DCLM Sincere Milk 26 August 2026 — Noah – A Righteous Man
DCLM Sincere Milk 26 August 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Noah – A Righteous Man
Topic: Noah – A Righteous Man
Bible Reading: Genesis 6:1-9 (KJV)
1And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
3And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
4There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
5And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
KEY VERSE: “These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.” Genesis 6:9
Message
God was displeased with the wickedness of humanity that He decided to send a flood to destroy the earth. However, He chose Noah, a righteous man to build an ark to save himself, his family and two of every kind of animal.
For about 120 years, Noah was busy building the ark based on God’s instructions and specifications. He also used the opportunity to warn of the impending judgment on the world in form of the flood. But nobody heeded Noah’s plea. They found it hard to believe that a loving God could also punish sin and destroy the world. Noah knew his God and obeyed God’s instructions to the letter even though he had never seen rain nor flood before. He did exploits for God and helped in the fulfilment of God’s programme for that age.
The judgment of God is fast approaching again. This present world will soon be burnt with fire. It is the duty of all Christian boys and girls to live righteously and also serve as true witnesses to help sinners escape the coming destruction and judgment. God still commits His divine assignments into the hands of His faithful children.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
God, please help me to be faithful in all that You have committed into my hands in Jesus’ name
FURTHER READING
2 Peter 2:4-6
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
