11Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.

12Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.

KEY VERSE: “Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.” Job 40:12

Message

Mary was from a very wealthy family. She went about Mwith an outstretched neck like a peacock and looked down on others. Many of the students in school, did not like her because she was too proud! One day, during their sports activities, their teachers left the students to practice some sports on their own. Mary fell down and injured herself very badly. She sat down on the floor and cried and wept for help but nobody answered her. She sat down there in pain, crying seriously for help until one of the students had pity on her and went to call one of the teachers.

Thereafter, Mary realized that her behaviour had put off many of the students. She stopped being proud and made friends with many of the students. God hates pride and has prescribed heavy punishment for the proud. Nebuchadnezzar was a powerful king of Babylon. Though he had no knowledge of the great God of heaven, yet he was punished because of pride. He was so humbled by God that he was driven away from his throne. He lived among animal and ate grass. What a fall! God warns us of the danger of allowing pride in our heart.

Whatever you have, praise God and use it for His glory and the benefits of people around you. This is the way to receive more blessings.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Dear Lord, please help me not to be proud.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
