TOPIC: A Perfect Heart (DCLM Daily Manna 18 July 2023)

KEY VERSE: “I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart” (Psalm 101:2).

TEXT: Psalm 101:1-8 (KJV)

1 I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O Lord, will I sing.

2 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

4 A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person.

5 Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.

6 Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.

7 He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.

8 I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the Lord.

DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:

The average cost of a heart transplant, including the need for immunosuppressant drugs after the surgery, is about $864,700. Yet, the best heart transplant a man can receive, comes from God and costs him nothing; and the new heart will never fail.

Walking before God with a perfect heart is an ideal decision. It is the best thing a heaven-bound believer should aspire and pray for at all times. This psalm is reflective of the psalmist’s deep-seated affection towards God and the cherished desire to continue a lifelong unbroken fellowship with Him.

To think of walking within our house with a perfect heart is the noblest thing a believer can covet. For when you are in your house, where no one is watching you, it is easy to lose focus and do those things that displease God in secret. It takes a real heart transformation for a man or woman to live right both in secret and in the open. The experience is called heart circumcision, sanctification, holiness or Christian perfection.

The message and requirement of holiness for every believer has been from the beginning. God the Father, Jesus the Sanctifier and the Holy Spirit of God are all holy. The Church, therefore, is called unto holiness, as the Bride of Christ. Servants of God from Abraham, Moses, the priests and prophets of the Old Testament, as well as all members of the commonwealth of believers are called upon to demonstrate true holiness. The New Testament teaches sanctification and a life of separation from sin. The Church is to be presented as a living sacrifice, a glorious church without spot or wrinkle (Ephesians 5:26,27).

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
There is no new life without a new heart.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
