TOPIC: Attitude To Homosexuality [Open Heaven for Teens 3 February 2022]

MEMORISE: Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Galatians 6:1

READ: James 5:15-20

  1. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
  2. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
  3. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
  4. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
  5. Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
  6. Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Matthew 23:23-46 , Exodus 31-38

MESSAGE:

The Bible makes it very clear that homosexuality T is a sin, however, our battle as believers is not with the LGBTQ+ community, it is against sin and the devil who is the enemy of our soul. This is because the physical controls the spiritual; those who belong to that community and the desire to belong are controlled by the devil. The Bible says the weapons of our warfare are not carnal (2 Cor 10:4 ). Thus, rather than hate the community, you should hate their acts and the devil.

Therefore, just as the devil is intentional about using all forms of sexual sin to take many young people to hell, as God’s ambassador, ensure that no soul around you is released to the devil. Instead of condemning or gossiping about those who have openly or secretly confessed to struggling with homosexuality or any form of sexual addiction, lead them to Christ in love. Today, we have rehabilitation homes for prostitutes and drug addicts so that we can win their souls for God’s kingdom. You may not be able to do that now but don’t feel unconcerned in your little corner, reach out in love to the LGBTQ+ community members, pray for them and win them to Christ.

ACTION POINT:

In the next 30 minutes, intercede for every Christian teenager struggling with any form of sexual sin.

HYMN: I NEED THEE EVERY HOUR

  1. I need Thee every hour,
    Most gracious Lord;
    No tender voice like Thine
    Can peace afford.

Chorus:
I need Thee, oh, I need Thee;
Ev’ry hour I need Thee;
Oh, bless me now, my Saviour,
I come to Thee.

  1. I need Thee every hour,
    Stay Thou nearby;
    Temptations lose their power
    When Thou art nigh.
  2. I need Thee every hour,
    In joy or pain;
    Come quickly and abide,
    Or life is vain.
  3. I need Thee every hour,
    Teach me Thy will;
    And Thy rich promises
    In me fulfil.
  4. I need Thee every hour,
    Most Holy one;
    Oh, make me Thine indeed,
    Thou blessed Son!

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
