TOPIC: AVOID UNGODLY INFLUENCE
TEXT: ACTS 8:9-12
10 To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.
11 And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.
12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

MESSAGE
Jesus Christ is our perfect example and only He should be our role model. No one can love us like Jesus. He is our model of righteousness and holy living. However, many children and youths today are not looking unto Jesus as their model.
0It is very sad to see many children, including those from Christian homes, getting involved in various immoral and corrupt activities which they have copied from bad lifestyles of some so-called celebrities. The pressure to act in certain ways, dress in a worldly way and do immoral things is very strong in the society today.
Except you make up your mind and fight to keep your godly heritage, Satan, the creator of all evil, will do everything possible to make you fall from the path of righteousness. He uses his agents to put the world under his control as it happened in the city of Samaria which came under the ungodly influence of Simon the sorcerer.
As a Christian child, do not allow ungodly influence of the world in your life. Do not talk, act, or dress like worldly people. Do not copy their hairstyles, music and games. Anything you want to do, look unto Jesus and you will never go astray.
Prayer: Oh God, please help me to stay away from the evil influence of this sinful and corrupt world.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)

3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
