TEXT: JOHN 21:15-17

15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

MEMORY VERSE: “So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs” (JOHN 21:15).

MESSAGE:

The test of our love for God can be exemplified by our commitment to His service and the body of Christ. Cambridge Dictionary defines commitment as “a promise or firm decision to do something.”

Truly, without a decision to serve the Lord, we will not be able to serve the Lord satisfactorily. The Lord expects church leaders and mature believers to feed the flock. Furthermore, He expects all church members to be fed equally.

Hence, Peter was charged to feed the sheep (adult) and the lambs (children) simultaneously. Unfortunately, many assemblies tend to overlook the children and the youth church, believing children and youths are still young.

The Lord wants to use you as His end time battle axe and instrument of war against the kingdom of darkness that is holding souls down in captivity. You can enlist in the army of the Lord today and begin to serve Him.

Make up your mind to be committed to the work of the Lord. Remember, you have to be born again for your service to be accepted and rewarded.

QUOTE: Serve the Lord satisfactorily.

CHALLENGE: Do the work of God passionately.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to serve You to the very end.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
