TOPIC: BE ORDERLY BEFORE GOD

TEXT: 1 CORINTHIANS 14:36-40

36What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?

37If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

38But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.

39Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.

40Let all things be done decently and in order.

Key Verse: “Let all things be done decently and in order” (1 Corinthians 14:40).

MESSAGE:
God is holy, perfect and orderly in all His ways, and wants us to be like Him. In creating the earth, God did everything in perfect orderliness. There was darkness everywhere and the earth was without form/shape.

He commanded the light to come forth, and it did. He also created everything that man would need, including animals, before creating Adam. By so doing, God left an example of orderliness for all people, particularly believers.

Some children are rough and disorganized; they do things anyhow. They make noise and engage in rough play anywhere they are. They do not even spare the house of God. They shout, disturb, fight and distract other children during church fellowship.

Some go to church with story books, phones, games, puzzles and use these to distract other children. This is not good and can make God angry. *The house of God should be treated with honour and respect.

Keep the house of God clean; don’t litter the place of fellowship or turn it to a playground. Always comport yourself in the house of God. Go to church with your Bible, jotter and biro. Join other friends of Jesus to make the house of God an orderly and decent place.

Prayer: Help me O Lord, to always contribute to orderliness in the church of God.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
