4And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
KEY VERSE: Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me” (John 14:1).
Message
It was Samuel Rutherford who said, “Believe God’s word more than you believe your own feelings and experiences.” Believing is an expression of confidence, acceptance, and trust in what someone says or can do. A story is told in the Bible about a young widow by name, Ruth, whose mother in-law was to return to her home country. Ruth resisted all efforts by her mother in-law to discourage her from following. She believed in the power of Jehovah, the God of Israel, to change her fortune. In the spiritual sense, believing is the acceptance, confidence, trust and faith in the ability of Christ to solve man’s problems, particularly, sin. (Romans 7:11-25). Christ is the only solution for sin. (Matthew 1:21; Acts 4:12). This has been made possible through His sacrificial death at Calvary, where His blood was shed for the redemption of mankind (Hebrew 9:12; Isaiah 53:3-12).
Friend, believe in Jesus today, and you will not only have blessings on earth but most importantly, one of the mansions He is preparing in heaven for believers, as promised in our text.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Lord, I believe You for Your promises here and in eternity.
CHALLENGE
Mansions are guaranteed for believers in heaven.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
