Text: MARK 16:1-11

MEMORY VERSE: “And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him” (Mark 16:6).

MESSAGE

The Mathematician and Scientist G. B. Hardey (1877-1947), while searching for the true religion said, “I really have only two questions. One: Has anybody ever cheated death? And two: Did he make a way for me to follow? Those are my only two questions.” In his quest, he discovered that the tombs of religious leaders that ever lived were occupied. But Jesus’ tomb became empty three days after he was crucified. Jesus cheated death, which answered his first question. G. B. Hardey found the answer to his second question in the Bible, where Jesus Himself said, “Because I live, you shall live also.”

The resurrection accounts by many witnesses and Jesus’ empty tomb are proofs of Jesus’ resurrection. Many still doubt Jesus’ resurrection today as they erroneously believe that it is a fictitious story. The scriptures which cannot lie, tell us that He was seen not just by His apostles but also by above 500 brethren at once. Let us rejoice for our Saviour rose on this day and is alive forevermore. His resurrection guarantees our redemption.

QUOTE: His resurrection -our redemption.

PRAYER: Holy Father, let the power that raised Christ dwell in me.

CHALLENGE: Ensure you know the risen Saviour personally.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
