DCLM Daily Manna 13 October 2021 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — God Knows Your Secrets

TOPIC: GOD KNOWS YOUR SECRETS

📜 TEXT:EZEKIEL 11:1-13📜

1 Moreover the spirit lifted me up, and brought me unto the east gate of the Lord’s house, which looketh eastward: and behold at the door of the gate five and twenty men; among whom I saw Jaazaniah the son of Azur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.

2 Then said he unto me, Son of man, these are the men that devise mischief, and give wicked counsel in this city:

3 Which say, It is not near; let us build houses: this city is the caldron, and we be the flesh.

4 Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O son of man.

5 And the Spirit of the Lord fell upon me, and said unto me, Speak; Thus saith the Lord; Thus have ye said, O house of Israel: for I know the things that come into your mind, every one of them.

6 Ye have multiplied your slain in this city, and ye have filled the streets thereof with the slain.

7 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Your slain whom ye have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and this city is the caldron: but I will bring you forth out of the midst of it.

8 Ye have feared the sword; and I will bring a sword upon you, saith the Lord God.

9 And I will bring you out of the midst thereof, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you.

10 Ye shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the border of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

11 This city shall not be your caldron, neither shall ye be the flesh in the midst thereof; but I will judge you in the border of Israel:

12 And ye shall know that I am the Lord: for ye have not walked in my statutes, neither executed my judgments, but have done after the manners of the heathen that are round about you.

13 And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then fell I down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord God! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel?

🔑📖KEY VERSE: “And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and said unto me, Speak; Thus saith the LORD; Thus have ye said, O house of Israel: for I know the things that come into your mind, every one of them”
(EZEKIEL 11:5).

Men are usually delusional in the way they assess themselves. They habitually ignore what matters most: their true rating in the sight of God. Some reassure themselves that He would not be bothered by their personal weakness – the things they consider to be small faults that even society may not necessarily frown at. They forget that before God, every offense, the big and the small, stands condemned.

The remnant of the children of Israel in Jerusalem were expected to learn from the experience of other Israelites that had gone into captivity. Instead, they grew worse in their disobedience to God. Their leaders secretly copied the practices of the heathen, until the Lord utterly abandoned them. The leaders became mischievous and by wicked counsel, misled the people. They convinced the common people that the worse was over for them; that Jerusalem was secure and would not be invaded again by enemies. It was left for God to command Ezekiel to prophesy and inform them that He knew their thoughts. They were misguided in thinking that they would come to no harm whereas God had prepared fierce judgment against them. Many would be killed by enemies and others would be carried into captivity.

It is foolhardy to assume that there is anything we can hide from God. He knows everything about us. That is why we must be concerned more about God’s opinion of us, rather than worrying about what people think of us. No sin, no matter how minute and obscure, can be hidden from God. Even our thoughts are known to Him before they are hatched. The only way to escape His anger and judgment is to turn away from all sinful practices and receive grace that will enable us to live righteously.

✍🏽THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: God’s searching eyes capture every secret of !our hearts.

📜THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: ISAIAH 30-33📜

MEDITATION
1. The Path of the wicked
a. Even though they are wicked and cruel, they are fearful of the revelation and the wrath of God like the devils who also “believe and tremble”, v8, James 2:19. b. They hate revelations.
b. They are very influential and have their way into the position of leadership. vv3, 5 to see how they successfully influence the whole of Israel negatively.
c. They imperceptibly caused a lot of havoc and wanton destructions of life, properties, destinies, divine blessings of people in the house of God, vv7,10,11.

2. Retribution for the wicked operating in the Church
a. The Bible is replete with passages showing that their activities will be a usual trend in the household of faith, Matthew 13:24-30, 2 Timothy 2:20.
b. How did Ezekiel handled them?
i. He made sure he was filled with the Holy Spirit to the point of receiving the right prophetic messages from God, was faithful in delivering the prophesies and never got distracted from his God sent ministry by those people, vv5,13.
ii. It was the Holy Spirit Himself that started judging them for “judgement must begin at the house of God”, v13, I Peter 4:17.
iii. Where there are truly Spirit filled ministers and saints, the Holy Spirit will definitely judged on His own accord and when He does, He does it timely, rightly and effectively. How was Ananias and Sapphira discovered and judged? (Acts 5:1-11). How did our resurrected LORD promised to judge witchcraft in the Church of Thyatira?, Revelation 2:20-23.

The answer to occultism in the house of God is not in pretending as if they are not there but in having holy and spirit filled saints and ministers with fire of the Holy Spirit burning continuously in their lives

PRAYER POINTS

1. Pray for the Spirit of God to make a hedge of fire around you so that evil personalities will not be able to harm you. 🙏
2. Pray for Holy Ghost fire and the Spirit of discernment to rest upon His ministers 🙏
3. Ask for the gift of revelation that will be exposing, disgracing and neutralising wicked people/power in the Church 🙏
4. Pray that the power of God will be mightily present in the coming crusade that all evil workers will either repent or be disgraced🙏

HYMN

THERE IS A GREAT DAY COMING

1. There’s a great day coming,
A great day coming,
There’s a great day coming by and by,
When the saints and the sinners shall
be parted right and left,
Are you ready for that day to come?
Refrain:
Are you ready? Are you ready?
Are you ready for the judgment day?
Are you ready? Are you ready?
for the judgment day?

2. There’s a bright day coming,
A bright day coming,
There’s a bright day coming by and by,
But its brightness shall only come
to them that love the Lord,
Are you ready for that day to come?
Refrain

3. There’s a sad day coming,
A sad day coming,
There’s a sad day coming by and by,
When the sinner shall hear His doom,
“Depart, I know ye not!”
Are you ready for that day to come?
Refrain

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
