Topic: Does God Care?

Text: 1 Peter 5:7-11

7Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

8Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

9Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

10But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

11To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Key Verse: “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” 1 Peter 5:7

Message

A songwriter answered the question posed by our topic thus:
O yes, He cares, I know He cares!
His heart is touched with my grief;
When the days are weary, the long night dreary,
I know my Saviour cares.

Life is filled with ups and downs that make some children to think whether God really cares about them. We need to really understand that we cannot avoid the disappointment or steer our lives around hurts along the way. But it helps when someone understands what we are going through.

If there was someone who could have had easy ride through life, it was Jesus. He has the power to calm a storm at sea and make enough food to feed thousands. He could heal any sickness, and even escape death (Luke 4:28-30). Yet Jesus chose to go without food for forty days and left home even though He had nowhere to sleep (Luke 9:58). He was born in a smelly stable, and was buried in a tomb that did not belong to Him.

Therefore, Jesus and our Father in heaven feel your pain too. Do not be sad or disappointed in any situation you find yourself. Read God’s promises, believe it and pray it into your situation. Everything will be alright. Always remember that God cares

Prayer for today: Lord, I cast all my burdens upon You because I know that You care for me.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
