TOPIC: FAITH IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

TEXT: ACTS 3:11-16.

11And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.

12And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?

13The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.

14But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;

15And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

16And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

MEMORY VERSE: “And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all” (ACTS 3:16).

MESSAGE:

The Bible says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). Our text centers on the healing of a forty-year-old man, lame from birth, by Peter and John through faith in the name of Jesus. As a beggar, he requested arms from Peter and John, who through faith in the name of Jesus, perfectly healed him. What a practical demonstration of faith by the duo! This is a challenge to Christian youths.

Beloved, E. W. Kenyon asks, “Have you realized that you have the name of Jesus in your care and that the name has power even today to heal the sick, save the lost, and bring life, joy and gladness to human hearts? And yet you have never used it!” The name of Jesus is above all names. No problem stands at the mention of His name by faith. Like Peter and John, God can use you to change the plight of distressed youths. You too can triumph over life’s challenges through faith in the name of Jesus.

QUOTE: The Name of Jesus is above all names

CHALLENGE: Be bold and do exploits by faith in the name of Jesus.

PRAYER FOR TODAY: Almighty God, help me to bring joy to the afflicted in Jesus’ name.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
