TOPIC: Lion Of The Tribe Of Judah [Open Heaven for Teens 17 February 2022]

MEMORISE: The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion. Proverbs 28:1

READ: Hosea 11:10-12

  1. They shall walk after the LORD: he shall roar like a lion: when he shall roar, then the children shall tremble from the west.
  2. They shall tremble as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria: and I will place them in their houses, saith the LORD.
  3. Ephraim compasseth me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the saints.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Mark 1:23-45 , Leviticus 24-25

MESSAGE:

Usually, when people engage in warfare prayers, they call God the Lion of the tribe of Judah because a lion is associated with strength and power. It is one of the strongest animals in the jungle, exuding confidence and fierceness, especially when hunting for prey.

Today’s memory verse says that God’s children, especially the righteous ones are as bold as a lion. Therefore, if you are timid, its either you are not righteous or you don’t know your place as His child. Be bold either when going into God’s presence or inviting Him to fight your battles for you. Hebrews 4:16 says:

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

The boldness God expects you to exhibit is as a result of your assurance in the power of the Lion of the tribe of Judah. The next time the devil or his agent threatens you, stand still and boldly take the matter to Jesus because Exodus 14:14 says The LORD shall fight for you and ye shall hold your peace.

KEY POINT:
Lion of Judah, please rise to my defence and fight all my battles, in Jesus name.

HYMN; O Worship The King

  1. O worship the King all glorious above,
O gratefully sing His power and His love:
    our Shield and Defender, the
    Ancient of Days,
    pavilioned in splendour and girded
    with praise.
  2. O tell of His might, O sing of His grace,
whose robe is the light, whose
    canopy space.
His chariots of wrath the deep
    thunderclouds form,
and dark is His path on the wings of
    the storm.
  3. Thy bountiful care, what tongue can
    recite?
It breathes in the air, it shines in the
    light;
It streams from the hills, it descends
    to the plain,
and sweetly distils in the dew and
    the rain.
  4. Frail children of dust, and feeble as
    frail,
in Thee do we trust, nor find Thee to
    fail.
Your mercies, how tender, how firm
    to the end,
    our Maker, Defender, Redeemer,
    and Friend!
  5. O measureless Might, ineffable Love,
While angels delight to hymn Thee above!
    The humbler creation, though
    feeble their lays,
with true adoration shall lisp to Thy praise!

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
