DCLM Sincere Milk  18 October 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Fear Thou Not

Topic: Fear Thou Not

Bible Reading: ISAIAH 41:10-16 (KJV)

10Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

11Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish.

12Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.

13For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

14Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

15Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shalt make the hills as chaff.

16Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and thou shalt rejoice in the LORD, and shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel.

KEY VERSE: “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” (ISAIAH 41:10)

Message

A group of traders often travelled through a definite route when going on their business trips. At a particular time of the year, robbers will always take advantage of the lonely road to terrorise the traders. A voice usually come from the bush, instructing the traders to drop their wares. The traders will quickly, out of fear drop their goods and run for their dear lives. This continued for a period of time until one day, when one of the traders decided that “enough is enough”. He went into the bush to confront the robbers, lo, and behold, the person behind that voice was a cripple. He had been using the weapon of fear to steal from the traders.

Fear is just false evidence that appears to be real. The devil uses fear to torment some children who do not know who they are and what they have in Christ. God has given us power to tread upon serpents and scorpions. The Bible says that the devil moves “like” a roaring lion which means he is not the real Lion.

From today, just like David, you will not “ Forget Everything (God’s promises) And Run” because of those “False Evidence Appearing Real” but you will “Face Everything And Rise”. Pray today that God gives you the spirit of power and sound mind to confront all your fears with God’s unfailing promises.

PRAYER: Father, give me power to trust in You and not fear.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
