TOPIC: FOOLISHNESS OF HIDING FROM GOD
TEXT: Jeremiah 23:19-24
20The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly.
21I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.
22But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.
23Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off?
24Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.

MESSAGE:
When children want to do bad things, they look for where to hide. Justy did not know that her mom was on the balcony. She just finished her breakfast and was taking the utensils to the kitchen.
Out of sheer carelessness, the teapot fell from her hand and broke into pieces. She hurriedly swept the pieces and threw them into the pit behind the house, in a bid to hide this from her mother.
As she tiptoed to the back of the house looking right and left, her mother saw her and watched. She quietly dropped the pack into the pit. As she turned to move away, her mother called, “Justy! What have you done?”

God sits on His throne in heaven looking at everyone. Neither we nor our actions are hidden from Him. We cannot hide from God though darkness covers us. Do the wise thing today. Expose yourself to God, He sees everywhere.
God wants you to show regret for your sins and to repent in tears and ask Him for His forgiveness. Cease to do wrong and delight to do right. The Lord will forgive you.
Prayer: Lord, forgive me and give me the power and grace not to sin again.

4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
