TOPIC: FORGIVEN SINS ARE FORGOTTEN

TEXT:ISAIAH 43:24-27

24. Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices: but thou hast made me to serve with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities.

25. I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

26. Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.

27. Thy first father hath sinned, and thy teachers have transgressed against me.

MEMORY VERSE: “I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins”. (Isaiah 43:25)

MESSAGE
Our passage is about The Lord’s mercy on a hard – hearted people. These lyrics written by Rev. Johnson Oatman Jr. clearly expresses God’s mercy thus: praise the Lord, there is mercy in heaven,
In that land where the sun never sets,
For our Savior forgives not as mortals
When we bowed at the footstool of mercy
When we knocked on the door to get in
Jesus not only freely did pardon
But forgave and forgot every sin
Not as mortals forgive one another
But our Jesus forgives and forgets.

The sins of the people in our text had so multiplied and accumulated that God finally declared, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities,” God Is not indifferent to sin. He is just and holy, and frown greatly upon sin. The good news is that although God hates and punishes sin, He has made provision for the sinner to be forgiven, and promises to forget forgiven sins. If you are living in lust, anger, stubbornness, or any secret sins, ask God for pardon; He will watch and make you whiter than snow.

QUOTE: God hates and punishes sin _

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
