DCLM Sincere Milk 10 July 2023 — Formed For God’s Glory

DCLM Sincere Milk  10 July 2023 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Formed For God’s Glory

Topic: Formed For God’s Glory

Text: Isaiah 43:3-7

3For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.

4Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.

5Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;

6I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;

7Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.

Key Verse: “Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.” Isaiah 43:7

Message

Every manufacturer has a reason or purpose for manufacturing or creating a thing. God is our Creator and He has purpose for every person He has created. It is good we know the purpose of God for our lives so that we can fit into it. It is sometimes important to ask ourselves some questions: why has God created us? What is the purpose of our creation? What does the Bible say about God and His creatures? The Bible points out that all things are created for God’s glory. We can see through the word of God that even nature itself glorifies God. Psalm 19:1 says “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.” It is clear from the Bible that mankind is also created to show forth God’s glory.

We are image-bearers of the Almighty God. We are created to bring glory to Him, to honor Him, to praise His glorious name, to thank and praise Him for His abundant grace, the riches of His love, His faithfulness and majesty. The very purpose of man is to live to glorify God in every way. There are other ways you can glorify God apart from praising Him. You can live a life of righteousness that will make people praise God through your character. Make up your mind that whatever you do must bring glory to God.

Prayer for today: O Lord, please help me to live my life for the glory of Your name.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
