Topic: Our Anchor Of Hope

Text: Hebrews 6:13-19

Key Verse: “Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;” Hebrews 6:19

Message

An anchor is the heavy object that is tied to a ship that keeps it secure to the bottom of the sea. An anchor provides a firm foundation and security. In our Bible passage, the word “anchor” is used as a symbol to represent God and our faith, that which keeps us steadfast and gives us hope during trials and storms of life.
We need a strong, unbreakable anchor for our souls.

Jesus is that Anchor. Connection to Him is our only hope. As the world goes through the experience of strange diseases like Covid-19, economic problems, insecurity and others, we can hold tight to His promises. He promises never to leave us or forsake us, He is our Protector, He is our Strength when we are weak, He is our Shepherd, He loves us and longs to hear our prayers.

Hold on to the Anchor of your soul. Spend quality time each day to study and meditate on the word of God so that your faith in God can grow. Also spend time with God in prayer. Jesus is the Anchor of hope for those who accept and trust Him. He loves you and will hold you tight when you are confused, lonely and troubled.

Prayer for today: Lord Jesus, You are my Anchor of hope. Hold me firm in the face of troubles of life.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
