DCLM Sincere Milk 18 February 2023 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Good things cost
TOPIC: GOOD THINGS COST
TEXT: PROVERBS 10:3-7
3. The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.
4. He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
5. He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.
6. Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
7. The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.
KEY VERSE: “He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.” Proverbs 10:4
MESSAGE:
Derilla desired a beautiful doll and went to the store to get it. The seller asked her to pay the money for her to have it. Sadly, she could not have the doll she loved because she did not have the money to pay for it. An old nursery rhyme says “if wishes were horses, beggars would ride.” This means good things come as a cost and that success do not come by just wishing for it but through hard work and paying the cost it takes to have it.
God the Father, sets the example when He gave us Jesus Christ, His only begotten son. Salvation came to us free but cost Jesus Christ His life. God deserves the best from you. Repent and surrender your life to Him if you are living in sin and disobedience. Give God your heart, spend your time to serve Him and love Him more than anything and anyone.
Do you desire good success? Then you need to be disciplined and work hard. Success is not for the lazy. Make up your mind to do all that you need to do to be the best. God is ready to help you. Are you ready?
PRAYER:
Dear Father, I surrender my heart to you. Help me to give you my all and be all that you want me to be in Jesus’ name.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
