DCLM Sincere Milk 26 May 2023 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Grace Is A Teacher
Topic: Grace Is A Teacher
Text: Titus 2:11-14
11For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Key Verse: “Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;” Titus 2:12
Message
What does your teacher do? He or she passes on instructions that must be earnt or obeyed. Have you come by a pupil or student who chooses to reject all the instructions of his teacher? Such a student is preparing for failure. That is why the wisest and most successful students are those that abide strictly by the instructions of their teachers. Now, teachers are of different categories, yet they do the same thing.
Our Bible passage reveals to us a teacher you never physically see standing before you. He begins his work immediately you become a friend of Jesus; the difference between this teacher and your other teachers is that, he teaches us to follow the way of righteousness and the path of godliness. He instructs us to live soberly, righteously and godly everywhere we go. This teacher is known as Grace. It is dangerous to disobey the Grace of God.
As a student in the school of grace, you are to be obedient to his instructions. You must also please Jesus in all your thoughts and actions. This is the only way to enjoy God’s blessings on earth and rest in heaven at last.

Prayer for today: Lord, help me to obey all that you are teaching me every day through your word and grace.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
