6But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
8A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
Key Verse: “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord” (James 1:6, 7).
Message
If a Christian does not believe in the efficacy of prayers, then why pray in the first place? Yet, the Scripture makes it clear that many people who pray hinder their own prayers. And one of the main reasons for this hindrance is unbelief. Unbelief is lack of confidence in God’s ability or willingness to grant our petition. It means to approach God with doubt, expecting rejection. It means to waver, vacillate or hesitate. A man in that state is suffering from unbelief. Let him not think he shall receive anything from God.
If you need a move of God in your life, you must get rid of unbelief. Do you need divine healing or divine provision? Do you need financial breakthrough or miraculous intervention? Do you need victory over peculiar temptations or courage in the face of oppositions? Do you need success, peace, purity and power? Simply seek God in prayer and believe in your heart that He is able. Build your faith life by knowing God’s will, through the study of His word and stand on His promises.

Challenge: Seek God and believe in your heart
Prayer for today: Lord, heal my unbelief, in Jesus’ name.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
