TOPIC: HOLD ON TO WHAT YOU HAVE
TEXT: REVELATION 3:7-11
8I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
9Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
10Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
11Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
MEMORY VERSE: “Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown” (REVELATION 3:11).
MESSAGE:
Skydivers usually engage in free falls from airplanes at a very high attitude. A skydiver is often expected to have his landing gear tightly secured to his back before jumping off the plane. As long as his gear is fastened to him and he holds tightly to it, he is quite sure to have a safe landing.

Jesus sent a message to each of the seven churches in Asia as revealed to John, His beloved apostle. After commending him for keeping His word and not denying His name, the Lord specifically charged the angel of the church in Philadelphia to hold fast to what he had so that no one would take his crown of righteousness.
Are you a believer in Christ? Do you love the Lord with all your heart? Just like the skydiver, you will have a safe landing in eternity with Jesus in heaven if you hold fast to the faith that you have received through the church and your godly parents/guardians. Do not drop the good thing you have to cling to mundane things that will perish.

CHALLENGE: Hold fast to your faith in God.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, help me to hold fast to my faith that I may make heaven.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
