Topic: In All Weather – Endure

Text: Philippians 4:11-13

11Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

12I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

13I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Key Verse: “I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.” Philippians 4:12

Message

Change is one thing that is constant in life. Today, one may be at the mountain top and tomorrow the Isame person may be down at the valley. Life throws different things at us such as obstacles/opportunities, friends/foes, wealth/want, poverty/prosperity. But the Bible says “nay in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” Like Paul the apostle, when things are good, we bless God and when things are not working the way we want them, we adjust. We endure so that we can move on.

Our ability to endure gives us courage during challenges and strength for the tough moments. The best only comes to those who don’t give up. Remember “If thou faint in the days of adversity; thy strength is small”.
Whatever the season, wet or dry, make up your mind to stay through with the Lord and He will surely bring you out.

Prayer for today: Oh God, help me not to faint in the days of trials.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
