40He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
KEY VERSE: “He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.” Matthew 10:37
Message
William turns his face to the pillow with tears pouring from his eyes. He has just waved a ‘goodbye’ to his mother. He has always thought that his life is incomplete without his mother. He therefore wondered how he will be able to live a whole one week without her. His love and affection for his mom was so deep. This made him to always avoid anyone or anything that will cause him to disobey or hurt his mother. Jesus wants us to love Him more than anyone. That is the instruction He has given us in our key verse.
How easy is it to love anybody else more than our fathers and mothers? Since Jesus has done for you what your father and mother cannot do, then He deserves more of your love and obedience. God would not accept dad and mom, even with their lives put together, as a ransom for your sins. It is Jesus’ death and resurrection alone that God accepts for your salvation, and His Blood alone has power to wash away your sins. Who do you love? Mom or dad? Relations or friends? Yes, it is good to love everyone. But, do not love anyone more than Jesus. Obey Jesus first, talk to Jesus first, read His word more, do His work faithfully and tell others about His love that saves from sin.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Lord, help me to love you above everyone else. I promise to obey and follow Your instructions every day of my life. Lord, help me to be sensitive to Your timing and to recognize divine opportunities.

Jesus, I Love You!
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
