DCLM Sincere Milk 10 November 2023 — Let This Mind Be In You

DCLM Sincere Milk  10 November 2023 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Let This Mind Be In You

Topic: Let This Mind Be In You

Text: Philippians 2:4-8

4Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

5Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

7But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Key Verse: “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:” Philippians 2:5

Message

To have God’s kind of mind means to look at life the way God sees it. He created everyone and loves all – you must love like Him. The thoughts of your heart, your views and desires must be like God’s own. The world sold to sin through Adam and Eve needs a Saviour. You must preach salvation through Christ. Your heart desires must be to please God in all things – in dressing, friendship/association, worship – all must be done to glorify Him.

You should not live your life to please anyone but God. He bought you, He owns you and He wants to direct and control your life. Yield all to Him, let Him be the Captain of the ship of your life. Love like Him, live like Him, shun pride, selfishness and disobedience. Live a life of humility and value others as God values you. Having the mind of Christ makes you hate the fashions of this world while you live the Christlike life. Anyone who abides in Christ and loves what He loves will be highly favoured by God. God is calling you to a life of Christlikeness. Your prompt response will bring abundant blessings to your life.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
