Topic: My Choice

Text: Psalm 119:26-30

26I have declared my ways, and thou heardest me: teach me thy statutes.

27Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works.

28My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word.

29Remove from me the way of lying: and grant me thy law graciously.

30I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.

Key Verse: “I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.” Psalm 119:30

Message

I am ten years old. I can choose for myself.” Kemmy thought.

She then went to her motherto ask if she could choose the dress to wear for the family get together. She was happy when her mother, cheerfully, granted her request. Everybody wants to make his or her own choices: which school to attend, which pair of shoes to wear, which friends to move with, even which biscuits to eat. It is alright if our choices are good and godly. The psalmist shows us the best thing to choose: “The way of truth.” He pleads with God to help him understand the way of God’s laws and remove the way of lying from him.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
