DCLM Sincere Milk 30 June 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Neglect
Topic: Neglect
Bible Reading: Hebrews 2:1-3 (KJV)
1Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
3How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
KEY VERSE: “How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;” Hebrews 2:3
Message
In the science laboratory, some chemicals are labeled ‘DANGER.’ The Science teacher had taken time to show these chemicals to the fresh science students warning them, for instance, that acid is very corrosive. Donny then decided to pour a little of this clear, water-like liquid into his palm and see what might happen. He neglected his teacher’s warning, got his left palm burnt and had to be rushed to the hospital for treatment. No sensible person sees danger and wait. We call such a person a fool who refuses to run away from danger. The regret of neglecting warning may be temporary or eternal. Our Bible passage warns us of the need to escape eternal punishment. Those who do not want to fall into danger are those who pay very close attention to the warning they are being given.
You cannot afford to neglect the need for the salvation of your soul. Salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ is the only way of escape from the eternal punishment of God for all sinners. Neglecting the salvation of your soul is a deliberate choice to hurt yourself. Make a wise decision today: turn away from your bad ways, believe in Jesus as your Saviour, ask Him to forgive your sins and help you never to go back to your wrong doings.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Lord Jesus, You are my only Way of escape from hell; forgive me all my sins.

Romans 10:8-11
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
