Message
In her publication, Passion and Purity, Elisabeth Elliot says, “If there is an enemy of souls (and I have not the slightest doubt that there is), one thing he cannot abide is the desire for purity. Hence a man’s or a woman’s passions become his battle ground.” Holiness is the nature of God, and God commands it in His word, “…Be ye holy, for I am holy” (1Peter 1:16). Purity within is a must have for all, if we must see God and be with Him in eternity.
Friend, you cannot claim to have purity within when your eyes are given to pornography, your mouth to speaking perverse things, your hands to stealing and fighting, your mind to the imaginations of evil things and your legs going to unholy places. Purity within is like the antibodies in the human body that fight against and ward off all forms of infections and bacteria (Sin) that will want to destroy our healthy life or relationship with God. Make sure you are spiritually safe and secure by praying to God for heart purity.
Holy Father, keep me pure within in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Without purity within, no one shall see God.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
