TOPIC: NEVER YOU FORGET

BIBLE TEXT: EXODUS 16:32-36

32 And Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD commandeth, Fill an omer of it to be kept for your generations; that they may see the bread wherewith I have fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you forth from the land of Egypt.

33 And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and lay it up before the LORD, to be kept for your generations.

34 As the LORD commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept.

35 And the children of Israel did eat manna forty years, until they came to a land inhabited; they did eat manna, until they came unto the borders of the land of Canaan.

36 Now an omer is the tenth part of an ephah.

KEY VERSE: “And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and lay it up before the LORD, to be kept for your generations” (Exodus 16:33).

MESSAGE:

Human beings by nature easily forget things. Many people do not remember the past blessings of God in their lives. However, when somebody experiences salvation, the nature of God is imparted into him. And it becomes easy for the person to appreciate all the goodness of God. The chosen people of God (the Israelites), enjoyed special blessings from God, but they often got carried away and forgot the goodness of God. No wonder, God always told them to put a stone or some permanent objects/structures to serve as reminders of the great things He has done for them.

Favour was a friend of Jesus. He noticed that his bunk mate in the boarding house had a small diary, where he usually wrote down his experiences each day. Out of curiosity, he asked to know the things his friend wrote in the diary; he was shocked that the book was filled with records of offences and offenders. Favour preached to him and cautioned him against the habit. However, he learnt a great lesson from his friend that if someone can document offences on a daily basis, he too would begin to write down the blessings of God in his life every day.

Every believer should daily remember the blessings of Christ in his or her life, and give glory to God.

PRAYER: O God, help me not to forget Your love for me, but to always remember and appreciate You for all Your blessings in my life.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
