DCLM Sincere Milk  15 March 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. KumuyiPath to Greatness

Topic: Path to Greatness

Text: Proverbs 2:1-9

1My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;

2So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;

3Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;

4If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;

5Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

6For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

7He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.

8He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.

9Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.

Key Verse: “He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.” Proverbs 2:8

Message

Greatness is what the Lord desires us to have. It is the ability to get to the height where others have not reached. But to achieve greatness you must follow the path. There is a road that leads to greatness in life.
For friends of Jesus, we already have the path to follow. Jesus our perfect Example is great. Once you give your life to Jesus, you already activate the first step to greatness. Then you must hunger and thirst for greatness and work towards it. Faith without work is dead. Do all you can to work hard to achieve greatness. Do not settle for less, as is commonly said, the sky is your limit. A sinner is not recognized in this path to greatness, you must repent and accept Jesus into your life so you can enjoy the blessings that follow. Write out in the space below things you must do daily to achieve greatness.

Prayer for today: Heavenly Father, please lead me in the path of greatness.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
