DCLM Sincere Milk 13 November 2022 — Peace for trusting heart

DCLM Sincere Milk 13 November 2022 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Peace for trusting heart

TOPIC: PEACE FOR TRUSTING HEART

TEXT: ISAIAH 26:1-4

1In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.

2Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.

3Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

4Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:

Key Verse: “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee” (Isaiah 26:3).

MESSAGE:
God is the Giver of peace. We have peace with God when we repent of all sins and surrender our lives to Jesus. Peace brings total calmness into the heart. It is one of the fruit of the Spirit in the life of a believer whose heart is free from condemnation.

As you grow in your daily work and fellowship with God, you will enjoy unlimited peace. Do you know that such peace is not available to a sinner? Without the salvation experience, there is no peace as the Bible says in Isaiah 48:22, “There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked.”

Following Jesus with a sincere and trusting heart brings the peace of God in the life of a Christian. Moreover, Christians are commanded to live in peace, seek and promote peace every time and everywhere. Jesus is the Prince of Peace and He wants everyone to be like Him.

We can promote peace by living peacefully with everybody, avoiding bad behaviours that will hinder peaceful co-existence and helping sinners to make peace with God through preaching of the gospel. When you obey the word of God, the God of peace will be with you always. Seek and pursue peace.

Prayer: Oh Lord, please give me peace and help me to promote peace.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
