DCLM Sincere Milk 13 March 2023 — Peace is a blessing – Part 1

DCLM Sincere Milk  13 March 2023 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Peace is a blessing – Part 1

TOPIC: Peace Is A Blessing – Part 1

Text: John 14:24-31

24He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.

25These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.

26But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

27Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

28Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

29And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

30Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

31But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

Key Verse: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27

Message:

Peace is one of the most cherished gifts that God has given to mankind but it depends on how it is being used. There are two kinds of peace: there is the peace that the world gives and there is the peace from God. The worldly peace is designed by Satan and it is temporary. It is often said that the devil does not give anything for free, he gives with one hand and collects with the other hand. Those children who seek the Devil for peace and a solution to their problems often end up in regret.

The peace from God is sacred and eternal, there is no sorrow attached to it, it is the peace that passes all understanding, it is also permanent. Only friends of Jesus can have this kind of peace. Do not envy those sinners showing off their wealth as they do not have the peace of God in them.

The choice is yours to make, either to accept the eternal peace of God or the temporal peace from the Devil; the counsel to you is that you choose the peace of God.
You can make up your mind today by accepting Jesus and inviting Him into your heart so that the Prince of Peace can come and reign in your life permanently.

Prayer for today: Lord, please bless me with peace that passes all understanding.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
