1Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the name of the LORD; praise him, O ye servants of the LORD.

2Ye that stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God,

3Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant.

4For the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure.

5For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.

Key Verse: “For the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure.” Psalm 135:4

Message

A treasure is a precious object of great value. It is something of value that is kept carefully. From our Bible passage we see that the Lord made Israel His peculiar treasure, which means He valued Israel. They were special and precious to God. If something is special to you, it means it is close to your heart. You will always be thinking about that thing. Also you will protect it jealously. This is what God has done for Israel and everyone that will surrender his/her life to Him. Why did God pick Interest in Israel? It is because Israel kept His commandments.

Father Abraham was called a friend of God; David was called a man after God’s heart. If you keep God’s commandments, you will enjoy the pleasure of being called His peculiar treasure. A sinner cannot be a peculiar treasure to God. He needs to repent and accept Jesus into his life as his personal Saviour and Lord. Then he will have the privilege of sonship. “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” (John 1:12)

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
