Topic: Pray And Do Not Worry – Part 1

Text: Philippians 4:4-7

4Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

5Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Key Verse: “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” Philippians 4:6

Message

Prayer is a solemn request for help or expression of thanksgiving addressed to God. It is a way of communicating our needs, desires and thoughts to Him. In a simple term, prayer is talking to God. We pray not only to ask things from God but also to worship, thank and praise Him. There are situations or things in life that may happen which tend to bring fear, anxiety, sorrow and worry. God is telling His children not to worry for anything or because of any situation.

We are not to worry about anything, but instead to pray confidently about everything. We are to tell God about all our needs. We are to bring everything in life to the Lord in prayer. There is nothing too small or too big that cannot be taken to God in prayer. There is nothing we cannot talk to God about. We should always tell God everything that disturbs our peace. Cast all your cares upon Him for He cares for you. When we pray to God for our needs, we need to believe Him and rest on Him knowing that He loves us and will work things out for our good and His glory.

Prayer for today: Lord, I thank You for all You have done. I cast all my worries upon You, let Your peace fill my heart in Jesus’ Name.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
