TOPIC: PROCLAIMING AND PERFORMING

TEXT: 2 CHRONICLES 6:7-10

7Now it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

8But the LORD said to David my father, Forasmuch as it was in thine heart to build an house for my name, thou didst well in that it was in thine heart:

9Notwithstanding thou shalt not build the house; but thy son which shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house for my name.

10The LORD therefore hath performed his word that he hath spoken: for I am risen up in the room of David my father, and am set on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built the house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

MEMORY VERSE: “The LORD therefore hath performed his word that he hath spoken: for I am risen up in the room of David my father, and am set on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built the house for the name of the LORD God of Israel” (2 CHRONICLES 6:10).

MESSAGE:

Omnipotence of God signifies that God is all-powerful. It means God has supremacy over all people and all things. He has no limitations and there is nothing impossible to Him. He reigns over the world with His supreme power and unchallengeable authority.

This attribute of God is amplified in today’s Bible text. King Solomon appreciates God’s ability to perform what He promises to do. God had told David that it was not he but his son, Solomon that should build the temple for Him. So, God fulfilled the promise He made to his father.

God has the ability to do all things, but you have to be faithful for Him to fulfil His promises, be it on healing, success, provision or spiritual blessings.

Unlike people that deceive with sweet words, knowing very well that they will not fulfil their promises, God ever remains able and faithful to fulfil all His promises. This is the very reason why His children should put their trust in Him. As we believe His promises and remain faithful to Him, He will perform them.

QUOTE: God ever remains able and faithful.

CHALLENGE: Nothing is impossible with God.

PRAYER: Lord, fulfil Your promises in my life.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
