DCLM Sincere Milk 17 February 2023 — Seed of greatness
DCLM Sincere Milk 17 February 2023 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Seed of greatness
TOPIC: SEED OF GREATNESS
TEXT: MATTHEW 13:3-9
3And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
4And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
5Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
6And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
7And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
8But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
9Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Key Verse: “But other fell into good ground and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold” (Matthew 13:8).
MESSAGE:
Kelly grew up believing that it is only the children from very rich familes who would become great and successful in life. What an error and a wrong belief!
God has planted the seed of greatness in every child, and His plan is that those seeds would grow and produce greatness, righteousness and success in every life. Inside the seed is the power to become a plant or tree, if it is planted and has access to water, air and the right temperature.
From the parable in our text, we learnt that each seed has in it the power to grow and produce fruits, but that it will only grow and bring fruit if it is planted in the right soil.
The growth of the seed of greatness in you begins when you become a child of God through repentance. Then believe that God created you to be great. More importantly be hardworking, disciplined and have a desire to be all that God created you to be.
Through obedience, righteousness and faith, the seed of greatness in Abraham grew and he became a great man and a blessing to the whole world. Get ready, it is your time to grow and be all that God wants you to be.
Prayer: Dear Father, help me to believe in your plan for my life and play my part well so I can be all that You created me to be in Jesus’ name.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
