TOPIC: SPIRIT LEADERSHIP OF SONS
TEXT: ROMANS 8:12-17
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
MEMORY VERSE: “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God” (ROMANS 8:14).
MESSAGE:
Three of the ways a man can be guided are obvious from experience in life. One, by the flesh, two, by Satan and three, by the Spirit of God. The most perfect way of being guided in life is by the Spirit of God. When a man is controlled and guided by the Spirit of God, he will not fall into mistakes.
Our study this morning shows us the people that can be guided by the Spirit of God in all situations. The Spirit of God helps them to overcome Satan, self and sin, as well as impart wisdom to them to attain excellence in their undertakings.
The Bible text describes such as “the sons of God” or “the children of God.” They once lived in sin and were ruled by the flesh. But now they have surrendered their lives to Christ, and the Spirit of God is indwelling them. They have become “… heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ…”
To enjoy the guidance of the Spirit of God, you must give your life to Jesus. True believers enjoy the Spirit’s guidance.

CHALLENGE: Spirit leadership guarantees daily victory.
PRAYER: Guide me O blessed Holy Spirit
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
