Text: Joel 2:28-32
Key Verse: “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions” (Joel 2:28).
Message
Reinhard Bonnke declared, “You must desire the fire and claim your flame!” Alas, many young people have substituted this inestimable experience with mundane things. With the spiritual gifts in you, you have the potential to do the “greater works” that our Lord Jesus promised (John 14:12). The gifts are nine in number and listed by Apostle Paul as: wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, and different kinds of tongues and interpretation of tongues (1 Corinthians 12:8-10). They are all available for successful Christian service.
Being born again is the first Christian experience; and it entitles you to the fruit of the Spirit. Thereafter, you should consecrate to God, get sanctified and pray to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. He will give you the gifts of the Spirit as a faithful Father. You are a potential candidate for the supernatural gifts if you are a saved child of God. People like Billy Graham, T. L. Osborn and David Yongi Cho got saved as youths and were empowered for fruitful service. God can fill you and use you too
Quote: God can fill you
Challenge: You need spiritual gifts to do exploit.
Prayer for today: Holy Father, give me these gifts for exploits in Jesus’ name.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
