The consequences of our thoughts and activities are the fruits of our doings. The fruits of our actions are either good or bad, godly or devilish, rewardable or punishable by God. Our text speaks in support of this. Israel, perhaps, did not at first realize the consequences of disobeying God’s commandments. The children of Israel ignored God’s call to repent from their bad doings for a long time, but the fruits of their doings were bitterness and regret. The fruits or the reward for their sin was that their land became desolate (deserted) and their lives miserable. They became slaves ruled by their enemies and lived as strangers in their own land.
Everyone reaps the reward of his or her actions. The pleasure of wrong doings may last for a while, but the punishment is by the corner. Pray today and turn away from your bad doings. Do not allow iniquity to ruin you.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Lord, be merciful to me, and forgive all my bad doings. Help me to do what is right before You always.

Philippians 1:9-11
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
