DCLM Sincere Milk 16 December 2022 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The most excellent way

TOPIC: THE MOST EXCELLENT WAY

TEXT: 1 CORINTHIANS 12:31

31But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

Key Verse: “But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way” (1 Corinthians 12:31).

MESSAGE:

The Bible identifies the most excellent way as the way of love. Love is a four-letter word, but it is the central theme and message of the Bible. This important message runs through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.

Firstly, through love, God made man in His own image and gave him the breath of life. This privilege was not given to animals and other creations. Secondly, God made provision for our salvation as soon as man fell into sin. He promised that He would send His only begotten Son to die for us. He would bruise the head of Satan, and Satan will only be able to wound his heel.

Thirdly, He provides for us everything that we need to make life easy and enjoyable. Lastly and most importantly, He fulfilled His promise by sending His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for our sins. This is the height of love.

All you need to do is to accept this offer of love from God and become a friend of Jesus. Then His love will be spread abroad in your heart so that you can also go forth and show God’s love to all around you.

Prayer: Thank You Lord for Your love for me, help me to always share Your love with others.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
