DCLM Sincere Milk 12 October 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The Table Turned
Topic: The Table Turned
Bible Reading: Esther 7:8-10 (KJV)
8Then the king returned out of the palace garden into the place of the banquet of wine; and Haman was fallen upon the bed whereon Esther was. Then said the king, Will he force the queen also before me in the house? As the word went out of the king’s mouth, they covered Haman’s face.
10So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king’s wrath pacified.
KEY VERSE: “So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king’s wrath pacified.” Esther 7:10
Message
There was a man named Haman, he allocated to himself T the power and authority to determine who can live and who should not live. He was a wicked man who thought there was no God. He took his closeness to the king of Persian as a license to do whatever he likes. He was ignorant of the worth of the people (Jews) he was dealing with. He did not realise that the Jews were the apple of God’s eyes. He was a foolish man, who realized too late that he was treading on a dangerous path. At the end, all the evil plans of Haman turned against him. He was hanged in the gallows he prepared for the servant of God.
Why did the table turn against the enemies of the Jews? The following are the reasons: (i) The Jews acknowledged the fact that their God is the Almighty who can do all things. (ii) They refused to fear or bow to the enemy’s threat. (iii) They fasted and prayed to God for deliverance.
These are the lessons God wants us to learn. Do not be afraid of the enemy no matter the size. Trust in the Lord, pray with all the seriousness it deserves and God will deliver you and turn the table against your enemies.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Lord, deliver me and turn the table against those that hate me.
FURTHER READING
Daniel 6:23,24
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
