DCLM Sincere Milk 10 May 2023 — The Trinity

DCLM Sincere Milk  10 May 2023 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The Trinity

Topic: The Trinity

Text — 1 John 5:5-8

5Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

6This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

7For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

8And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

Key Verse: “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” 1 John 5:7

Message

The Bible teaches that the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God. God is one Being Who has existed eternally as three distinct personalities. As distinct persons, each functions in His own unique manner. They are so united that one never acts independently or in opposition to the others.

God the Father so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to die for the salvation of the world. Jesus came and became one of us to take the punishment that we deserve. The Holy Spirit convicts of sin. As Christians, He is our Helper and Divine Comforter. He lives in us to give us constant victory over sin, the devil and temptations.

This triune (Three-in-one) God hears us when we pray, understands us when we suffer, heals us when we are sick, preserves us from evil. You can freely express your thoughts to God and trust Him to hear you and understand. God is everywhere, He is not far away at all. Only sin makes Him go far away. Therefore, you must run away from every appearance of sin.

Prayer for today: Lord, I believe in The Trinity. Please, help me to be in constant union with you.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
