TOPIC: Walk The Talk (DCLM Daily Manna 29 June 2026)

KEY VERSE: Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe – 1 Thessalonians 2:10

TEXT: 1 Thessalonians 2:10-12 (KJV)

10 Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe:

11 As ye know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father doth his children,

12 That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.

DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:

On January 15, 2009, Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger was at the helm of US Airways Flight 1549 when a bird strike took out both engines. Known for his vast experience and professionalism, Sullenberger had consistently emphasised the importance of training, preparation, and remaining calm in emergencies. In that critical moment, with remarkable composure, Sullenberger made the bold decision to land the plane in the Hudson River. His quick thinking and commitment to his principles ensured the safety of all 155 passengers and crewmembers. This incredible event, dubbed the “Miracle on the Hudson,” highlights how his actions perfectly matched his words, underscoring the importance of living by one’s principles.

Today’s passage is another example of individuals who practised what they preached. Here, Paul and his team testified of the Thessalonian believers’ integrity and blameless lifestyle while ministering to them. Paul could genuinely call on them and God as witnesses to his life of purity and righteousness. He reminds us that a life marked by consistency and integrity speaks volumes, often louder than words. Despite attempts by some critics to tarnish Paul and his team’s reputation, claiming they were just another set of frauds exploiting religion, the traducers couldn’t substantiate their claims. Paul’s life was an open book. He worked hard and never became a burden to the Thessalonians. His relationship with them mirrored that of a caring father with his children. He taught and lived out the values he espoused within his spiritual family.

In stark contrast, the frequent lack of integrity among many selfproclaimed Christians and preachers today often undermines their message and credibility. When believers fail to practice what they preach, it erodes the trust and faith of others. Integrity in leadership is crucial.

The alignment between what we say and what we do builds trust and acceptance of the gospel message. Christians, especially leaders, should strive to ensure that their everyday actions mirror the teachings they promote. By genuinely “walking the talk,” they can enhance their witness and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those they lead.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
If you want others to see what God’s grace can do in them, let them see what it has done in you.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
