TOPIC: WITH GOD, NO GOING WRONG

BIBLE TEXT: PSALM 32:5-9

5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

6 For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.

7 Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.

8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

9 Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.

MEMORY VERSE: “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye” (PSALM 32:8).

MESSAGE:

Things go wrong in life when one makes a wrong decision, takes a wrong step and trusts the wrong person. Imagine a world where one has the wisdom and insight to always do the right thing at the right time. Unfortunately, this is not the case, as stated by Wesley Duewel in his book, Let God Guide You Daily: “No one knows enough about the past, present or future to constantly make correct decisions independent of all counsel from others or from God.”

God planned and promised to be man’s Helper and Counsellor. He planned to guide in things small and great. God guides with His word, both written and spoken. He guides with His staff, to direct and lead. He guides with His rod, to correct when one is about to stray. Above all, He guides with His eyes, implying a high level of intimacy.

David enjoyed these privileges. So may you, if you come into a personal relationship with God through faith in Christ. You will enjoy divine guidance. And with God in your life, nothing will go wrong.

QUOTE: God guides.

CHALLENGE: God planned to guide in things small and great.

PRAYER: Lord, guide me in all things so that I don’t go wrong.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
