DCLM Sincere Milk  18 April 2023 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Yes, you can!

TOPIC: YES, YOU CAN!

BIBLE TEXT: PHILIPPIANS 4:10-13

KEY VERSE: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (PHILIPPIANS 4:13)

MESSAGE:

Ricky performed badly in his studies because he believed he was not as smart as other children and would not be able to make good grades. This wrong belief prevented him from preparing well for examinations and ended up scoring low grades. The wrong belief affected his actions, and his actions determined his result.

Every child of God can succeed and become all that God created him/her to be. As revealed in His word, God is not partial. God is willing to do for you what He did for Daniel, Joseph, Esther and others who pleased Him and became successful. The word of God in Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me”. Daniel succeeded and had a result that was ten times better than that of others. Joseph refused to commit sin but chose to obey God’s word even when nobody would have known. You too can overcome all the temptations that come your way daily and live a life of obedience by the grace of God. You can have your heart made pure, if only you would desire it, believe God and pray for it. Believe and think on what God says about you. Obey His word and do not be lazy. God’s purpose for your life would come to pass in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to believe your word and do all that you want me to do, so I can be all that you created me to be.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
