DCLM Sincere Milk 26 April 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Heaven’S Bank Account
Topic: Heaven’S Bank Account
Bible Reading: Acts 10:1-8 (KJV)
1There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,
3He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.
4And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.
5And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:
6He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.
7And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;
8And when he had declared all these things unto them, he sent them to Joppa.
MEMORY VERSE: And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.” Acts 10:4
Message
Daddy, where do our prayers go? Does God hear our prayers at all? Those were the questions from little Jason that made the dad relate the story of Cornelius to him.
Cornelius was a devout Roman centurion who believed in God and prayed regularly. He was a generous giver and seeker of the truth. One day, he received a vision from God instructing him to send for Peter who preached Christ to him and his household. His humble and seeking heart led him to experience God’s love and salvation, the baptism of the Holy Spirit thus establishing the fact that God desires a personal relationship with each and every one of us. God accepts people from all backgrounds regardless of race, social status or religion. Faith and obedience are keys to receiving God’s blessings. The fact that some of our prayers do not receive immediate answers does not mean that God did not hear. Sometimes, they are stored up as a memorial before God.
The word “memorial” means God remembers what you pray about. It is like putting money into your bank account. You may not have need for it in days to come but it will always be there whenever you need it. Prayer should not be used as a ‘hotline’ when we get into trouble or you are faced with a difficult situation. Like Cornelius, endevour to develop a lifestyle of prayer. You can pray anywhere, anytime and about anything. God remembers and treasures our prayers as they are stored up in heaven’s bank.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Lord Jesus, please increase my faith and help me believe that You always answer prayers.

Psalm 55:17
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
