DCLM Higher Everyday 27 April 2026 — God’s Love

DCLM Higher Everyday  27 April 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — God’s Love

Topic: God’s Love

Bible Reading: 1 John 4:9-10 (KJV)

9In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

10Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

MEMORY VERSE: ” Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins” (1 John 4:10).

Message

Many young people struggle to understand the true meaning of love. They look up to the world for its definition, allowing movies, music, and culture to shape their perspectives about it. They sing along the ungodly worldly lyrics and follow trends, unaware that they are being taught a distorted version of love by a world that did not create it – Love originates from God. The Bible reveals that love was first demonstrated by Him because He loved us so much that He gave Himself for us. Love is a divine concept and cannot be comprehended or taught by the world. The ultimate proof of love is Jesus Christ, given to us by the Father.

When we live by God’s love, we see transformation in our lives, homes, and communities. His love is not a license to sin but a call to righteousness. He loved us even when we didn’t deserve it by giving His son to us a propitiation for our sins. God’s love is overwhelming, life-changing, and better experienced than explained. This love can be experienced when we accept Christ as Lord and Saviour.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, help me to reflect Your love to others around me.

CHALLENGE

A life full of God’s love stands out

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
