Topic: Possess Your Possession

Bible Reading: Joshua 18:1-3 (KJV)

1And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh, and set up the tabernacle of the congregation there. And the land was subdued before them.

2And there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes, which had not yet received their inheritance.

3And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the LORD God of your fathers hath given you?

KEY VERSE: And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the LORD God of your fathers hath given you” (Joshua 18:3).
Message

In our text, Joshua spoke to the children of Israel saying; “How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the Lord God of your father’s had given you?” God gave the land of Canaan to Abraham and his seed after him. However, Israel went into Egypt and were there for about four hundred years before God delivered them through Moses. Again, Israel was displaced and persecuted for centuries, even going through the Holocaust during World War 2 in which six million Jews were killed. But they were determined to go back to their home land and by 1948, the Jews possessed their possession.

Youths should know that there are many blessings the Lord has kept for them to possess like the Jews. However, possessing these blessing requires genuine salvation through Christ which entails repenting of your sins and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. Like the Israelites, young believers can be delivered to possess their possessions if they pray in faith and work hard and smart.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Oh God, may no one take over my possession in Jesus’ name.

CHALLENGE

Pray and plan to possess your possession.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
