DCLM Higher Everyday  19 June 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Precision In Spiritual Warfare

Topic: Precision In Spiritual Warfare

Bible Reading: 2 Corinthians 10:3-6 (KJV)

3For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

4(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

5Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

6And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

KEY VERSE: For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds” (2 Corinthians 10:4).

Message

Rick Joyner states, “The entire church age has been one of spiritual warfare, and that warfare is increasing as we approach the end of this age.” Though we are physical beings, our warfare is not physical, it is spiritual in nature. Our text explains the essence of a “Precision Attack” in spiritual warfare, where Christians are called upon to engage in battles against unseen forces. Precision/targeted attack means being specific in prayers as you address life’s challenges. Don’t generalize your requests.

To carry out precision attacks, you must recognize the nature of the challenge, and utilize spiritual weapons of prayer, the word of God, and the authority in the name of Jesus. Identify things that are strongholds in your life. Are there subtle or powerful negative thoughts that occupy your time? Put them under Christ’s authority by aligning your mind with God’s Word in a world full of distractions from the print and electronic media. Always look unto Jesus. In spiritual warfare, understanding your position in Christ and wielding your weapons with precision, will lead to triumph over your adversaries.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Lord, empower me for victory in the spiritual warfare. Amen.

CHALLENGE

Christian youths are called to engage in spiritual warfare.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
