Message

The children of Israel got to Egypt at the time when Joseph, their brother, was the ruler there. They lived in the best part of the land. They never knew that suffering and pain awaited them in the years to come. Now they have lived in Egypt for almost 400 years. Suddenly, life became so unbearable. The Egyptians and their king that had lived in peace with them for many years now hated them. Israel began to cry to God in their great trouble and affliction in a strange land.

Surprisingly, in all their pains and suffering, God gave them increase and strength. The children of Israel were thinking that God has forsaken them. But God chose this odd time to bless his people. When we are passing through trouble and pain, we should not always feel it is because God has rejected us. Though it is necessary to find out if we have offended God and sincerely repent, yet time of lack and pain should not be considered as the worst times of our lives. God, unknown, to the children of Israel was feeling their pains with them and planning for their freedom.

Do not think that God has forsaken you and your family because you are passing through a period of lack and difficulties. Tell your problems to Jesus and join your family in prayer to God. Remember you cannot bear your burden alone. The Lord will increase, strengthen and deliver you even in the time of suffering and pain.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Lord, in my time of suffering and pain; hear and deliver me as I cry to You in prayer.

Psalm 61:1-4

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
